What does a business coach actually do?
A business coach helps you work on the business instead of just in it. That means getting your numbers clear, fixing your systems, sorting your team and pricing, and holding you accountable to a plan. You still make the calls, but you have someone in your corner who has seen the same problems before and can shortcut the learning.
Will coaching work for a small or one-person operation?
Yes. Some of the biggest gains happen for sole operators and small teams, because a few good changes to pricing, quoting and systems move the needle fast. Coaching is scaled to where you are now, not to some big-company textbook.
How is coaching different from just doing a course?
A course gives you information. Coaching gives you a plan built around your business, plus the accountability to actually do it. Most owners already know a lot of what they should do. The value is in the focus, the order you tackle things in, and having someone check you did them.
How long before I see results?
Most owners see early wins within the first few weeks, usually around pricing, quoting or getting their week under control. Deeper changes to systems, team and profit build over a few months. Coaching is a steady climb, not a magic switch, and the compounding is where the real money is.
I am flat out already. How do I find time for coaching?
That is exactly the problem coaching solves. Being too busy is usually a sign the business is running you. Sessions are short and focused, and the first job is often to free up your time by fixing the things that keep you on the tools when you should be running the show.
What kind of results can I expect?
It depends on where you start, but common outcomes are stronger margins, better clients, more predictable cashflow, and more time off. The goal is not just a busier business, it is a more profitable and less stressful one that could run without you standing over it.
Do you only work with people in one trade or industry?
The principles of profit, systems, team and time apply across trades and small businesses. What changes is how they are applied to your pricing, your jobs and your market. Good coaching starts with your real numbers and your real situation, not a one-size template.
What happens in a first session?
The first session is about getting the lay of the land. We look at where the business is now, what is working, what is draining you, and what you actually want out of it. From there you leave with a clear picture of the biggest opportunities and a simple first plan of action.
